History

The National Association of Home Based Secretaries (NAHBS) was established June 1995 to represent the needs of home office clerical professionals. Prior to that time, there had been no association for home based office workers to exchange information, enhance their skills, or demonstrate their commitment to providing professional services to the employers that hire them. The Board of Trustees was formed with a representative from all areas: members-at-large, retired members, home based employers, and remote staffing recruiters.

NAHBS assists members in achieving their career goals by providing new and updated work at home job openings in the clerical field. These are REAL jobs that do not require fees or investments. All jobs that appear in our reports offer work at home or telecommuting opportunities in the clerical field. Rest assured - you will not find sales, high tech or telemarketing jobs in our reports! Certification

NAHBS members are eligible to apply for our professional certification program. If you meet our qualification requirements, agree to our service standards and receive a passing grade on the certification exam, you’ll be able to achieve the title of Certified Home Based Secretary (CHBS). This shows potential employers that you are not only skilled and knowledgeable in the issues relating to professional clerical work, but that you are also technically prepared to work from home.
